Nerd Nite NYC Season 20 Premiere

Nerd Nite NYC returns from summer vacation for its annual water-themed Nite at Hudson River Park WetLab at Pier 40 — with oysters, mermaids, and science after dark.

Two presentations: Deborah Wolfson traces the outsized role oysters have played in New York City history — from Lenape communities and the Dutch, through the Underground Railroad and abolition, to today's conservation efforts. Uri Bram follows with an exploration of platypuses, mermaids, and the theories of geneticist Eugene McCarthy, who challenges the centrality of Darwinian evolution.

Nerd Nite's 21st season kicks off at Littlefield on September 11.
