New York Scandia Symphony

New York Scandia Symphony will present a program of seldom heard Scandinavian masterworks, including Helios Overture and An Imaginary Journey to the Faroe Islands by Carl Nielsen; Concertino for two Horns and Orchestra by Friedrich Kuhlau; At the Castle Gate and Karelia Suite by Jean Sibelius; and Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 – Midsommarvaka by Hugo Alfven. The orchestra of 50 musicians, chosen from among the finest in NYC, and soloists Peter Reit and Will de Vos, will be led by Scandia’s Music Director and Conductor Dorrit Matson.
