NIC Kay, Sloth-ish: Where Does It Hurt?

Sloth-ish: Where Does It Hurt? (2019) began as a joke between artist NIC Kay and keyon gaskin, and morphed into an experimental performance meditation that moves through themes of urban geography, objecthood, human supremacy, animality, repose, and the surreal. The performance immerses its audience in movement and sound, set within a colorful world of scaffolding, stanchions, beauty supplies, and detritus.

This is one of six new commissions presented as part of VW Sunday Sessions 2018/2019. The VW Sunday Sessions commissioning program supports local and international emerging artists in the development and presentation of new performance work.
