Non-Adhesive Bookbinding Workshop

This workshop will focus on books held together only by folded paper and thread. These elegant softcover books are easy to make at an artist’s home studio with no need for specialty bookbinding equipment. Also, there is no stress of moisture or adhesives! Students will learn a pocket accordionblizzard book and a concertina with a paper case. Students are encouraged to take Bookbinding 1 before this class, but it is not required.

About the Instructor:

Sarah Smith studied printmaking, graphic design, and bookmaking at Parsons School of Design. Following her BFA she volunteered at The Center for Book Arts to further her bookbinding training. She has worked in the printmaking and bookmaking field for seven years now.
