Oculus Book Talk: John Hill, Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture

John Hill will present his book Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture.

Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture highlights more than 200 buildings completed since 2000, a decade when a veritable building boom gripped the city, giving rise to a host of new—and architecturally cutting-edge—residential, corporate, institutional, academic, and commercial structures. With the slowdown brought on by the recession, the guidebook takes a look at the 21st-century’s urban transformations. Projects are grouped by neighborhood, allowing for easy, self-guided tours, with photos, maps, directions, and descriptions that highlight the most important aspects of each entry.

John Hill is an architect, a blogger (archidose.org), an adjunct professor (New York Institute of Technology), and the US Representative/Editor of World-Architects.com. He lives in Astoria, Queens.
