A 90-minute walking tour traces 160 years of LGBTQ history along 72nd Street, from Riverside Park to Central Park, presented by the NYC LGBTQ Historic Sites Project and LANDMARK WEST!

The route connects sites of activism, nightlife, and the arts, highlighting figures including author and civil rights activist James Baldwin and composer Leonard Bernstein, both of whom called the Upper West Side home. Stops include Emma Stebbins's "Angel of the Waters" — created by a lesbian sculptor and gracing Central Park since 1873 — alongside a deeper exploration of the park's layered LGBTQ history.

The tour is led by Amanda Davis, Executive Director of the NYC LGBTQ Historic Sites Project and an architectural historian with a BA from the University of Virginia and an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. All participants receive a whisper-technology over-ear listening device. Proceeds benefit both organizations equally.
