It’s My Party: A Memoir by Jeannette Watson

Join Jeannette Watson as she discusses her new memoir, It’s My Party. Jeannette will be given an introduction by Marianne Willamson and interviewed by Alan Steinfield of New Realities. This event will be filmed.

Independent bookstore Books & Co. was a cultural jewel and neighborhood nexus on the Upper East Side and the culmination of a lifetime love for books for Jeanette Watson, IBM founder Thomas J. Watson’s granddaughter. Her new memoir chronicles a life of glamour, personal struggles, and hard-won joy and contentment.

It’s My Party follows Jeannette from a privileged, sometimes turbulent upbringing, years as a debutante, young wife, and mother, then a departure to New York City during the 1970s era of cultural freedoms, at which time she realized her vision of starting Books & Co. For the next two decades, Books & Co., and Jeannette, played a significant role in the literary, social, cultural, and celebrity life of the city. Join her for a book event to hear more of her story.
