Priya Parker: The Art of Gathering

Priya Parker has been studying people, and her observations are that the gatherings in people’s lives have become routine: lackluster and unproductive. She believes that people now rely on the accepted conventions of gatherings and neglect those involved, the distinctiveness each individual brings to a meet-up. We are now in a time when coming together is more important, and Priya’s new book The Art of Gathering is a guide on how to create a human-centered approach to gathering.

Priya’s words will assist people in creating meaningful and memorable experiences in both work and play. She draws on her expertise as a facilitator of high-powered gatherings around the world to show what works, what doesn’t, and why. She investigates a wide variety of gatherings–conferences, meetings, a courtroom, a flash-mob, an Arab-Israeli summer camp–and explains how simple, specific changes can enliven any group experience.
