Top biographers of Putin will give presentations on what matters the most about Putin’s past. Where was he born? Who is he? What is the history of his early days? What was his childhood like? How did Putin end up as a member of the KGB and then deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg? What is Putin most afraid of? And what do democratic leaders and foreign policy experts need to know in order to properly understand Putin’s thinking? A renown neuroscientist with an expertise in psychopathy and narcissism will discuss how dictators think.

What will the future look like if Putin had his way? What is his foreign policy? What is Putin’s influence inside the United States, Europe, and the rest of the world? This session will illuminate issues such as interference in foreign elections, hacking, and the chaos caused by Putin’s propaganda across the world. A panel discussion on stage: What are the likely scenarios for the end of the regime? If Putin ceases to look strong will his cronies betray him? What will accelerate the end of the regime? Will strong deterrence and sanctions bring about Putin’s demise? Will Putin’s regime end when he dies of old age? Will he groom a successor? What is possible and what is likely? This session will conclude the event and will take place in the main area.
