Queer Maker Day

A free community celebration of LGBTQ+ artists, makers, writers, and small businesses at the historic Alice Austen House on Staten Island's waterfront.

Set on the grounds of a nationally designated site of LGBTQ+ history, Queer Maker Day brings together vendors offering handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, textiles, prints, apparel, and more. Visitors can explore the museum dedicated to pioneering Victorian lesbian photographer Alice Austen, stroll through the Queer Ecologies Project gardens, and take in the current exhibition Radical Botany: The Politics of Flowers.
