Join Yanis Varoufakis, Sen-elect Julia Salazar, and Nomiki Konst, candidate for NYC Public Advocate, to discuss ways to dismantle fascism, racism, and classism in New York City.

Yanis Varoufakis, the former finance minister of Greece and the co-founder of DiEM25 (Democracy in Europe Movement), a campaign for the revival of democracy in Europe. Varoufakis is a global leader challenging capitalism and fascism and is the author of Adults in the Room and Speaking to My Daughter About the Economy: or, How Capitalism Works — and How it Fails.

Julia Salazar is the State Senator-elect representing New York’s 18th District. As a tenant advocate, community organizer, and union member, Julia has spent her life fighting for social justice in her community. Julia is also an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Nomiki Konst is an award-winning investigative reporter (The Young Turks) who exposed political and financial corruption from the DNC, NYS government (including the IDC) to disaster capitalism in Puerto Rico and its ties to Wall Street. Sen. Bernie Sanders appointed Konst to the DNC Reform Commission where she led the fight for accountability, financial transparency, to eliminate the power of superdelegates, and to reform the primary and caucus structure. She’s running to be Public Advocate on the most progressive platform for citywide office and to reinforce the duty of an independent, investigative power that not just calls out the City government, but holds the special interests and political machines accountable.
