Real Change: Sharon Salzberg in Conversation With Anu Gupta

Sharon Salzberg launches her new book, Real Change: Mindfulness to Heal Ourselves and the World, a roadmap for engaging in challenging times. She appears in conversation with Anu Gupta, founder of BE MORE with Anu Gupta. BE MORE uses evidence-based mindfulness tools to eliminate the influence of unconscious bias in decision-making.

From one of the world’s leading experts in meditation comes a roadmap for engaging in challenging times with clarity, calm, and heartfulness. In her eleventh book, Sharon Salzberg teaches us that meditation is not a replacement for taking action, but rather a way to practice generosity with ourselves and summon the courage to break through boundaries, reconnect to a movement that’s bigger than ourselves, and have the energy to stay active. Consulting with veteran activists and social change agents in a variety of fields, Sharon collects and shares their wisdom and offers the best practical advice to foster transformation in both ourselves and in society. Real Change guides us to embody the fundamental principles of mindfulness practice toward greater clarity and confidence so that we can create a better world. For more information visit Real Change.

Anu Gupta is a scientist, educator, lawyer, and the Founder of  BE MORE with Anu. He has logged over 10,000 hours of meditation and developed BE MORE with Anu’s science-backed, compassion-based approach after conducting decade-long research on the causes of and solutions to racial and gender inequality. Having trained over 16,000 people at more than 200 organizations, Anu has spoken about his work on the TED stage, SXSW, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), NYC Bar Association, Insight Timer, Ten Percent Happier, among other venues. He obtained his JD from NYU School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar, an MPhil in Human Development from Cambridge, and a BA in International Relations & Islamic Studies. He’s also a graduate of the Mindful Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training program at Spirit Rock and sits on the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies board.
