Reel Pieces: Preview of “Where to Invade Next” and Conversation with Michael Moore

92Y proudly presents Academy Award-winning director Michael Moore with a preview of his most hilarious and provocative film yet, Where to Invade Next (winner of the Audience Award at the Hamptons Film Festival as well as the Chicago International Film Festival).

Reel Pieces Moderator Annette Insdorf will interview the director after the screening.

From Roger and Me (1989) to the Oscar-winning Bowling for Columbine (2002), Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) and Sicko (2007), Michael Moore’s work has been entertaining, satirizing and provoking. He won an Emmy Award for his series “TV Nation” in the mid-1990s, and his books include Stupid White Men, Dude, Where’s My Country? and Here Comes Trouble. Where to Invade Next (produced by Academy Award-nominees Carl Deal and Tia Lessin) is an expansive, rib-tickling and subversive comedy in which Moore, playing the role of “invader,” visits nine nations to learn how the U.S. could improve its own prospects. It turns out the solutions to America’s most entrenched problems already exist in the world: they’re just waiting to be co-opted.
