Reproductive Rights in Ireland and the U.S.: A Symposium

“Reproductive Rights in Ireland and the U.S.: A Conference” is the first-ever U.S. symposium devoted to last year’s momentous Repeal the Eighth referendum in Ireland. Taking place on Thursday, May 9 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at Roosevelt House (47-49 East 69th Street, NY, NY), it will bring together an international slate of activists and legal scholars, including Ailbhe Smyth as keynote speaker. A separate panel of leading American reproductive rights scholars will follow, discussing the importance of the vote to the present state of affairs in this country.

Sponsored by Queens College’s Irish Studies program and the New York Women’s Foundation, the conference is free and open to all, with a reception to follow.
