Rescheduled: Ashton Applewhite on Ageism

This event is rescheduled from Sunday, May 3rd, which we had to postpone because of Ashton’s illness.

Ageism was an issue before the pandemic. Ashton Applewhite, anti-ageism activist, talks about what we can learn about ageism from COVID 19.

Ashton Applewhite, who spoke at our Out Loud event in New York City, is internationally known for her mission to defeat ageism. Her TED Talk was a sensation. She’s toured Australia as part of that country’s Every Age Counts campaign. Her book, This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism, was published in March, 2019 by Celadon Books, a new division of Macmillan, Inc.

NextTribe has invited her to speak about this troubling topic, and how COVID 19 is impacting the perceptions and treatment of older Americans.

You are invited to send your questions in advance to [email protected]. The person who sends in what we deem the best question will win a digital copy of Ashton’s book. Extra points for a question she’s never been asked before.
