In the United States of the late 19th and 20th centuries, the Ten Commandments received a new lease on life. More richly imagined than ever before, the ancient constellation of do’s and don’ts imprinted itself on the American landscape. In her illustrated lecture, historian Jenna Weissman Joselit explores the social, cultural and religious forces that propelled the Ten Commandments into prominence. Jenna Weissman Joselit, Charles E.
