Rooftop Films: New York Non-Fiction 2026

Rooftop Films presents New York Non-Fiction 2026 — a short film program at Green-Wood Cemetery drawing from lived moments, local histories, and the myths that circulate through New York's streets and boroughs.

The program includes: an intimate portrait of Grammy-nominated poet Aja Monet during her sold-out Blue Note residency; a chorus of stories from the organizers of Fenix Community Fridge, a grassroots food pantry in Ridgewood, Queens; a filmmaker reflecting on labor and digitizing union newspapers in a darkroom; a glimpse into the lives of NYC's pigeons; a deeply unqualified Michael Bublé impersonator; Manhattan's most iconic driving instructor; and archival footage from the 1980s and 90s following artists and activists who took over abandoned Lower East Side buildings.
