The Russian + The Jew: A Celebration of Love + Politics in the USSR with Words, Music + Wine

Liba Vaynberg brings an exclusive preview  of The Russian + the Jew, described by The New York Times as “wonderfully real and raw,” to the JCC. Cowritten with Emily Louise Perkins, the play is a political fairy tale that explores anti-Semitism and misogyny through a female friendship in the Soviet Union in 1968, underlining the eternal question of fidelity to one’s self, one’s partner, and one’s country. The project was created as part of the COJECO BluePrint Fellowship, supported by COJECO and Genesis Philanthropy Group. Enjoy a reading from the play, songs from the era, and a reception afterward.

Generation R is supported by the Jewish Education Project, with generous funding by Genesis Philanthropy Group.
