The Society for the Advancement of Social Studies (SASS!) is proud to present a series of lectures designed to both entertain & enlighten. Get ready for all the history you knew but forgot, and all the booze you need to forget it again.

Like that ex that keeps on texting, history is bound to repeat itself and here we are again with our sixth annual Sexy SASS! This year’s theme is “Love Stinks” and features talks on:

Aphrodite’s Aromas

Fragrance expert Jessica Murphy will lead us on a journey of olfactory time travel from ancient Egypt to the Victoria Era. We’ll sample five smells, and hear legends of the iconic lovers who wore them for romance and seduction.

Ayn Rand: Fountainhead of Love

Historian Kevin Valliere brings us a tale of Ayn Rand, and how her affair with a man 25 years her junior nearly tanked Objectivism twice and was also just icky through and through.

The Worst Break-Ups in History
