In his small village in Northern Finland, 25-year-old Turo’s only source of satisfaction is his amateur metal band, which he and his friends have played in for 12 years — despite never having had a single gig. But when the organizer of a major Norwegian heavy metal festival unexpectedly shows up in town and they have a surprise chance to give him their only promo CD, the members of “Impaled Rektum” decide that it’s now or never. And for a chance to play their first real gig, they’ll stop at nothing: even if that means stealing a van, a corpse, a coffin, and a mental-patient drummer to make their way to Norway, with the Finnish cops not far behind.

A heartfelt rock comedy for the ages, Heavy Trip is a reminder that the most important journeys are always well-worth taking — no matter how many Nordic militaries you have to face along the way. Directed by Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio (Finland, 2018)
