Muhammad H. Zaman is the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor of Biomedical Engineering and International Health at Boston University. His new book “Biography of Resistance: The Epic Battle Between People and Pathogens” is the result of hundreds of interviews and travel to labs, jungles, urban centers, and archives on multiple continents.
