Silver Wind: The Arts of Sakai Hōitsu

In conjunction with the Silver Wind exhibition, Japan Society Gallery, with the support of the Japanese Art Society of America, convenes a group of distinguished speakers to discuss the beauty of Japanese nature as depicted by Hōitsu. Speakers includeTadashi Kobayashi, former Professor of Art History, Gakushūin University, Tokyo; Satoko Tamamushi, Professor of Art History, Musashino University of Fine Arts; and Haruo Shirane, Shincho Professor of Japanese Literature and Culture, Columbia University. Moderated by exhibition curator Matthew P. McKelway, Takeo and Itsuko Atsumi Associate Professor of Japanese Art, Columbia University.
