Solid Objects Presents: Mac Wellman and Miranda Mellis

On Thursday November 15th, Solid Objects will present Mac Wellman, reading from his provocative choral play, Left Glove, and Miranda Mellis, reading from her novella, The Spokes. Plus, Long-Island based singer-songwriter, Laura Stevenson, of “Laura Stevenson and the Cans” will give a solo performance. Books, music, wine and snacks. Could an evening get any better?

The Spokes has been described as “a deeply melancholic portrait of the living and the dead […] a radiant piece of work” (Carole Maso). Of Left GloveMónica de la Torre writes: “Left Glove will fit thee like a glove if thou relishest the sort of play in which the most awe-insiring acrobatic feats are performed by no other character than language.”

Solid Objects was launched in 2010  by the award-winning New York City based poets, Lisa Lubasch and Max Winter, and is dedicated to printing short, self-contained works which, because of their length, might not otherwise find their way into book form.
