Gabriel de la Mora: Sound Inscriptions on Fabric

Programed in tandem with the Gabriel de la Mora exhibition Sound Inscriptions on Fabric.

Open Sessions artist Thessia Machado, an artist whose cross-media performance practice addresses the links between sound and drawing, has organized two performances in August.

Thessia Manchado’s practice explores the innate relationships between sound and visual perception. For her performance at The Drawing Center, she will be playing a handmade sculptural instrument that she is building as a resident of Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center.

Ranjit Bhavnagar is a sound sculptor who creates an instrument every day as part of an ongoing series. Each of Bhavnagar’s instruments is made from found objects that have been transformed into noise-making sculptures.
