Spirited Strolls

Archigrafika red with cream backgroundGet into the autumnal mood and enjoy a cool, crisp day exploring Green-Wood. This fall walking tour, an annual favorite, features tales of murder, mayhem, spirits and the utterly bizarre. Green-Wood Historian Jeff Richman will lead this spirited stroll through this National Historic Landmark amid the beautiful fall foliage.

The tour will include a visit inside the Catacombs, plus other intriguing sites including a stop at the final resting place of the Fox family — founders of Spiritualism; the gravesite of George Washington’s personal dentist, coincidentally named Dr. Greenwood; and the monument to the Wizard of Oz, Frank Morgan.  The tour will also feature the gravesites of those involved in the infamously lurid Victorian-era murder case known as “Butchery on Bond Street;” and more.

Walking tour is $25; $20 for members of the Green-Wood Historic Fund and members of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. To make an online reservation or to find out more information, call 718-210-3080 or visit www.green-wood.com/toursevents.
