Stories From Little Italy by PrettyGoodToursNYC

NOTE: This tour meets on the Sullivan Street side of the Church!!

Between 1880-1924, over 4 million Italians immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. Many settled in the neighborhood in downtown Manhattan eventually dubbed Little Italy, where Italian-Americans began to establish a unique culture and ethos that mixed the traditions of the old country with the ebbs and flows of their new home.

This two hour walking tour will visit the churches, restaurants, and infamous locales that cultivated the neighborhood’s vivacious character and attitude–an attitude and way of life that, from caprese to cannolis, is still honored and celebrated today!

Meeting Info:

-Tour meets at Shrine Church of St Anthony of Padua at 155 Sullivan Street, a short walk from the Broadway/Laffeyette B/D/F/M, Houston Street 1, Bleecker St. 6, Spring Street C/E, and Prince Street R.
