For this unique presentation of her first monograph, Shapeshifters: Black Girls and the Choreography of Citizenship, anthropologist and professor Aimee Meredith Cox will lead participants through a guided conversation and writing exercises to engage the creation and documentation of conceptual black feminine spaces and experiences. Shapeshifters is an intimate look at the strategic methods developed by young black women in a Detroit homeless shelter to intervene on marginalizing structures.
