SUMMER SCARES is a reading program from The Horror Writers Association (HWA), in partnership with Book Riot, Booklist, NoveList, and iREAD, provides libraries and schools with an annual list of recommended horror titles for adult, young adult, and middle grade readers. It helps start conversations extending beyond the selected titles and promotes life-long learning. New York Times best-selling author Jennifer McMahon and a committee of six library workers, led by HWA Library Committee Co-Chairs Becky Spratford and Konrad Stump, have selected three titles in each reading level.
