Sunday Platform – Jeff Berardelli: “The Climate Challenge: An Ethical Journey”

Last year, driven by a moral and ethical desire to use his platform to educate the masses on climate change, Jeff left his full-time job as a chief meteorologist in South Florida and embarked on a life experiment of sorts.

With no means of employment, he moved back to NYC to attain his graduate degree in climate from Columbia University and work on compelling the TV media to cover climate change as an important issue. This is the capacity in which he is working now.

Jeff views the mass media as a vital medium in educating the public on the risks and opportunities posed by the climate challenge. He will discuss the ethical motivations, as they pertain to climate change, behind his decision to make this dramatic change in his life. His talk will combine information from his experience at CBS News and how climate change is rising in prominence in the media, and what his personal experience reveals about following your passion and doing things for the right reasons.
