Two-time winner of the Newbery Medal and the National Book Award, Katherine Paterson comes to Symphony Space for a conversation on her new book with author Neela Vaswani (Same Sun Here). My Brigadista Year is an engrossing historical novel about a young Cuban teenager as she volunteers for Fidel Castro’s national literacy campaign and travels into the impoverished countryside to teach others how to read.

The Thalia Kids’ Book Club offers lively discussions between children’s book authors and their fans. Each event includes a creative writing project, a discussion with the audience, and a book-signing.
