The Art of Mending

Workshop with Chris Marlow of Fiber Craft Studio

Fee: $35 (includes materials)

Pre-registration encouraged. Limited to 20 participants.

With needle and thread we can repair, mend, and embellish. Together we will practice a few stitching techniques, borrowing from the sashiko tradition, to make a small coaster or sachet. This skill will be useful for many applications.

Chris Marlow, Co-Director of the Fiber Craft Studio, graduated from its first Applied Arts Cycle in 1999. She was a handwork teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School for 15 years, and at the West Side Community School, a charter school in NYC, for 2 years. Currently, she is Program Director for the 10th cycle of the Applied Arts Program.
