The Art of Return

The Art of Return is a unique live event dedicated to the journeys and creativity of formerly incarcerated people. Created and produced in collaboration with the community, each show features formerly incarcerated artists sharing their work, from poetry to music to film and beyond. Then, journalist and host Allen Arthur sits down with a special guest for an intimate, in-depth interview about their lives before, during, and after their time inside. In the space between between the walls and the world is The Art of Return.

We will devote February’s Art of Return entirely to women. We are honored to be joined by the legendary Elaine Bartlett, subject of the book Life on the Outside. Her struggles, triumphs, and activism have earned her immense respect within the community, and her story – from incarcerated first-time offender to crusader for women and girls – is not to be missed.

Doors 3:30 PM, show 4:00 PM.

Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
