The Concept of Dread: A Reasoning and Listening with Ishion Hutchinson and Sheldon Shepherd

Please join us at Swiss Institute as Ishion Hutchinson and Sheldon Shepherd curate an evening of music and poetry to celebrate the life and work of Lee “Scratch” Perry.

Ishion Hutchinson was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica. He is the author of Far District and House of Lords and Commons and teaches in the graduate writing program at Cornell University.

Sheldon Shepherd, is an award-winning Jamaican actor who can be seen in such films as Yardie, Better Mus’ Come, and Capture Land. His book of poems, In The Morning Yah, was published in 2015. Shepherd is also a member of the Kingston-based artist collective, The No-Maddz.
