The Devil’s Mail II—More Letters That Survived Horrors with Dr. Stephen J. Berlin

There is no end to the atrocities that mail has survived…….This is a very entertaining and appropriate topic to get everyone in the mood for Halloween. Dr. Berlin has assembled an extensive collection of mail and postal history items that have literally survived some of the world’s most Hellish events. From Floods, Blizzards, Famine and other natural disasters to tragic accidents on the earth, in the air and on the water and mail that survived acts of true evil. Dr. Berlin’s collection is so rare and so unique that we will have two independent presentations that still touch on only a fraction of his collection. Part Two will show even more dastardly mail interruptions and stand on its own without the need to view Part I.

Landon Spitzer will assist his grandfather in sharing these remarkable stories and postal artefacts with us. Dr. Steven J. Berlin is a graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and became the Chief of Podiatry service at Ft. Jackson Army Hospital. He started Podiatric Pathology Laboratories which was sold to Quest Laboratories.  Steve is a member of several philatelic groups and is an active writer and exhibitor.
