The Encampment

alumni-on-the-stairsJoin us for a celebratory fundraiser and learn about the success of Encampment 2015 and plans for July 2016 in the Boston area. We’ll gather on Friday, November 20, at 5:30 pm in Ceremonial Hall. You’ll meet Encampment alumni, including young people who participated in this summer’s program at Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS, and view a video with highlights of their experience.

This is an exciting time for the Encampment. The summer program and year-round follow-up activities provide youth with a compelling experience in democratic living, with emphasis on critical thinking and social action. Through this transformative experience, young people gain a deeper understanding of the key issues of our time, becoming more informed and committed to active involvement in their community as citizens and justice seekers.
