The Future We Choose: Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac

Two leading negotiators on the UN Paris Agreement present options that governments, corporations, and individuals can take to fend off disaster.

Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac, led negotiations for the UN the during the Paris Agreement. They have worked with environmental leaders around the world—including Greta Thunburg, Al Gore, and Jane Goodall—to devise solutions that will ameliorate the consequences of climate change as we know it. In The Future We Choose they pose two possible outcomes for the planet—what the earth will look like in 2050 if we fail to meet the Paris target for reduced carbon emissions, and what it will take to create and live in a carbon-neutral world.

Figueres and Rivett-Carnac discuss the roles individuals and institutions can play at every level in tackling the challenges at hand, and how to make these efforts count toward securing the planet’s future for our children and their own. They will be joined in conversation by  model, organizer, and writer Cameron Russell.
