Susanna Moore reads from her novel The Life of Objects, a haunting tale about the experience of a teenage girl, an Irish Protestant lace maker, who joins the glamorous Berlin household of Felix and Dorothea Metzenburg in 1938, only to find herself bearing witness to the atrocities of that time as she journeys from childhood to womanhood and from naïveté to wisdom.
