The Meatpacking District

A walk through the gritty but hip Gansevoort Historic District, also known as the Meatpacking District, with a special look at the High Line.

Other stops include the Titanic Memorial Arch; the place where surviving Titanic crew and passengers were given aid relief; the R & L Restaurant; sites associated with founding father Alexander Hamilton and Herman Melville, author of Moby-Dick; and the Nabisco factory where the Oreo cookie originated.

This tour ends at approximately 12:30 pm.

Meet in front of the Old Homestead Steakhouse, 9th Ave between 14th & 15th Sts.

Pre-registration for all tours is required at least 24 hrs in advance. Attendees will be emailed details of the tour — with specific meeting location and additional directions 24 hrs in advance of the tour. All tours happen rain or shine.
