The British Empire Study Group invites you to join us on Thursday, January 14th 2021 at 6pm EST (NY) for an exploration with Stephen Browne of the major New South Wales postal history events including those from what were to become the separate colonies of Van Diemen’s Land, New Zealand, Port Philip District and the Moreton Bay District.
Explorers, Governors, Convicts, Soldiers, Letters written by Women, Pioneers, Scoundrels and Missionaries!

About Stephen
Stephen has been a collector since childhood (age 5), but his interest in postal history did not emerge until later in life. He began collecting postal history in 1974 (age 14) with his first purchases from Ron Hake’s “Britannia Stamp Bureau”.
National Awards include Canberra 2008 (LG), Melbourne 2009 (LG + Felicitations), Sydney 2011 (runner up Australian Championship Class), Perth 2012 (LG), Wellington (New Zealand) 2015 (LG, Grand Award) and many other FIAP and FIP competitions.

He is a National-qualified Judge in Postal History since 2015, Australian International Commissioner since 2015 and an author for various articles published in “Sydney Views” (journal of the Australian States Study Circle).

When he is not pursuing postal history his other hobbies include Fine wine (mainly Australian); Vinyl records (first pressings from the1960s and 1970s); Guitar (also collect vintage American guitars and Marshall amplifiers), Travel (well ….. not at the moment).
