Matthew Young will speak about “The Rise and Fall of the Printers’ International Specimen Exchange,” a fascinating venture created in the late nineteenth century to promote “artistic printing.” Mr. Young’s title comes from his new book on the subject, recently published by Oak Knoll, which draws in part on research undertaken in the Grolier Club Library. Co-sponsored by the Library Committee of the Grolier Club, and by the New York Chapter of the American Printing History Association. Reception follows.
