A screening of TCB: The Toni Cade Bambara School of Organizing, a riveting portrait of the revolutionary writer, filmmaker, educator, and cultural organizer who remains one of the most influential Black intellectuals and movement builders of the twentieth century.
Structured as a series of lessons in cultural organizing, the film combines rare archival footage with reflections from friends, collaborators, students, and fellow artists — illuminating Bambara's commitment to using art as a tool for political education, collective struggle, and community empowerment. More than a biography, it offers a blueprint for organizers, educators, and artists building movements rooted in culture and liberation.
Followed by a talkback with co-director Louis Massiah on the making of the film and Bambara's enduring influence. Held at the Paul and Eslanda Robeson Cinema at The People's Forum.
