‘Tracing the Incredible History of Tea’ Webinar

Visit many corners of the globe these days and tea seems to have gotten there first — and not just sold in stores, but at the center of that culture’s norms, identity, and traditions. But how did tea leaves from a remote area in East Asia get there in the first place? It’s time to uncover the incredible history of tea, and the surprising twists and turns of its spread throughout the world.

Join New York Adventure Club as we explore the complex story of tea throughout human history, and how such a soothing beverage could be at the center of global affairs for hundreds of years.

Led by Ting Nicholds, founder of moJoosh — a company dedicated to cultivating tea cultures for better human connection through tea experiences — our virtual experience will include:

  • The origins (and myths) of tea, and what tea drinking and brewing looked like in earlier times
  • A discussion around Tea Horse Road, one of the longest and most dramatic trade routes of the ancient world, which consisted of a web of caravan paths spread across a series of mountain ranges connecting China and South Asia
  • Pivotal tea moments in history, including the rise of the East Indian Company, Boston Tea Party, tea during WWII, and more
  • An overview of tea practices, cultures, and brewing tools from around the world

Afterward, we’ll have a Q&A with Ting — any and all questions about tea are welcomed and encouraged!

Can’t make it live? Don’t worry, you’ll have access to the full replay for one week!

See you there, virtually! $10.
