The Two Koreas: War or Peace?

Can the two Koreas achieve reconciliation and reunification, the goal for nearly seven decades? How can a potentially catastrophic clash between the US and North Korea, or even a second Korean War invoving the US and China, be avoided? Will the future of the Korean Peninsula be war or peace?

Join us as Dr. Charles K. Armstrong gives us an insightful review of Korean history and guidance for the future. Dr. Armstrong is The Korea Foundation Professor of Korean Studies in the Social Sciences at Columbia University’s Department of History, author of Tyranny of the Weak: North Korea and the World, 1950-1992 (Cornell University Press, 2013) and Co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Korean Studies.

We are proud to also present a performance by EnoB, a global outreach organization that designs and performs high quality musical concerts for isolated individuals in New York, Seoul and Shenzhen.

The event is sponsored by the Nuclear Disarmament Task Force of All Souls Church, co-sponsored by the Peace and Justice of All Souls, the UN Unitarian Office, NGO Committee on Disarmament Peace and Security, the Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY) and the Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE).
