On the occasion of the publication of their essay in the French and English editions of Le Monde diplomatique, Anne-Cécile Robert, director for the international editions of Le Monde diplomatique, and UN specialist and author Romuald Sciora will be debating the evolution of the role of the United Nations and the new challenges faced. Other contributors to the debate include Chef de Cabinet of the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly Tomas Anker Christensen, international relations specialist Dr. Michael J. Williams (New York University), and CBS analyst and correspondent to the UN Pamela Falk.

The conversation will be introduced by François Delattre, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations.
