Since antiquity human beings have covered their faces for protection, disguise, ceremonial performances and entertainment purposes. In this course we will try and examine the different connotations facial coverings hold in today’s world through a prism of visual culture.
Alon Andorn is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses drawing, collage, sculpture & video installation. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor’s in Visual Communication, both from the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design, Israel. Prior to immigrating to the U.S. Andorn has taught art & design in various higher education establishments for over a decade, and in the past years has also worked with kids and teens, teaching Hebrew as well as art.
