Upgrading Humanity: Defending and Nurturing the Truly Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Although still in its earliest stages, artificial intelligence (AI) is radically transforming all aspects of society. With the immanent emergence of Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) and the illusory temptations of “transhumanism,” humankind stands at a crossroads. Nicanor Perlas makes an urgent plea. It is imperative, he says, that we take immediate steps to ensure that digitized technology is aligned to human values and priorities.

The lecture and workshop will be based on the Nicanor’s recent book, Humanity’s Last Stand, available at Rudolf Steiner Bookstore at Anthroposophy NYC, 138 West 15th Street (btwn 6th and 7th avenues). Advance reading is highly recommended.

Location: Threefold Auditorium, 260 Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY 10977.

Admission: $65 (Saturday lecture plus Sunday workshop), or $15 / $9 students and seniors (Saturday lecture only). Pre-registration for the Sunday workshop is required.
