Baruch Performing Arts Center and the CUNY Dance Initiative present Urban Bush Women. For over thirty years, choreographer Jawole Willa Jo Zollar’s company has given expression to the vitality and boldness of African American women. Director Raelle Myrick Hodges and writer Keisha Zollar join her to develop Hair and Other Stories, a multidisciplinary, evening-length work addressing matters of race, gender identity, and economic inequality in the lives of African American women based on their Hair Stories (2001).  A unique opportunity to preview this work-in-progress and hear the company speak about their creative process. $10.
