Using the Law to Defend the Human Rights of the Jewish People and the Counter Terrorism Community

Hate crimes and anti-Semitic attacks are on the rise in the United States and around the world. Rabbi Joseph Potasnik and Brooke Goldstein will discuss how lawyers can use their skills to fight hate and discrimination wherever it occurs. Rabbi Potasnik, the religious commentator for 1010 WINS Radio, will discuss the threat of the rise in hate crimes in the world. Ms. Goldstein will describe the work of The Lawfare Project, which maintains an international network of more than 400 attorneys who are dedicated to defending the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and pro-Israel community. The network fights discrimination by providing pro-bono legal counsel and financial support to members of the Jewish community who have been targeted and harmed based on their ethnicity, religion, citizenship, or nationality. It safeguards free speech by guaranteeing that pro-Israel and Jewish voices are not silenced by illegal conduct on campuses. Lawfare provides pro bono or low bono counsel in appropriate cases to take legal action against individuals and organizations engaging in anti-Semitic activities or supporting terrorist networks.
