Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition

Approximately 180 classical ballet and contemporary dancers from 22 countries will be in New York for the fifth annual Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition. The internationally renowned panel of 28 judges includes Andris Liepa (Russia), Tracy Inman (Alvin Ailey School, NYC), Frank Andersen (Denmark) Patricia Aulestia (Mexico), Nina Ananiashvili (Georgia), Lawrence Rhodes (Juilliard Dance Division), Charles Askegard (USA) and Hae Shik Kim (South Korea).  Prizes include contracts with companies in the U.S., Romania and Argentina, and scholarships at such schools at the Conservatoire National Superieur in Paris, the Escola de Danca in Lisbon and the National Ballet School in Toronto. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are devoted to the Rounds; Finals are Friday, May 29; and the Awards Ceremony and Gala Performance will take place Saturday May 30.
