Vapors

Charles Wilkin: Vapors

Opening Reception: Thursday, May 18, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

The Yard Williamsburg, 33 Nassau Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222 (between Dobbin and Guernsey)

We are thrilled to announce that we will be showcasing Charles Wilkin’s series Vapors at The Yard in Williamsburg! Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, 18 May, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Wilkin’s work is a loose collection of his thoughts and observations in many ways and less about one specific theme. “I see it as being a reflection of the world we live in, with all its ugliness and cruelty. But from that, I strive to extract the beauty and empathy hidden underneath and within us all, revealing the unknown, the unspoken and intangible things that make us truly human. For me, collage as a medium replicates this frenetic and inherent collision of people, culture, and emotions we all experience.”

Wilkin received his BFA at Columbus College of Art and Design. He currently splits his time between his studios in the Catskills and Brooklyn.

This exhibition is curated by Silence Is Accurate (SIA), an arts consultancy specializing in site-specific installation, neon and contemporary art.
